Juts a quick note to let you know PC users can do the same thing via the Mozilla project's Prism or even better, using Google's Chrome browser. Chrome supports "application shortcuts". Almost any web application can be given its own standalone window.

See: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95710

This is a great way to organize your daily web apps like vitalist and gmail. Their windows get grouped together in the taskbar for easy locating and best yet, if your regular browser crashes while surfing your standalone windows are unaffected thanks to chrome running each standalone window individually.
